I had Onion Bhaji to start. Two large crispy balls, which I enjoyed. I had Karahi Chicken Tikka Dhansak for my main course. It wasn’t like a Dhansak as there were no visible lentils and tasted like a Tikka Masala to me. I’d choose something different next time. Garlic Rice was nice with large slices cloves.
We love the empress of India, the restraunt itself is kind of 1970 vibe!! I love that. The menu is vast and service efficient and speedy. I love the food on every level. It can be very noisy when busy but all adds to the fun atmosphere! Visited sat eve, not a seat in the house available. Caters for large groups too. Will go back. We love it
A group of us friends from Maidstone, Kent. We randomly visit various types of restaurants on the last week of each month. This time it was "The Empress Of India". There were 6 of us this time on the 28th of August 2019.
We had a fantastic welcoming by Mr. Babul, who is one of the owners, a really nice person, along with the rest of the staff.
We asked Mr. Babul, to make us 6 mixed starters and 6 Main Dishes, with some side dishes and rice as well as naan breads.
The food was FANTASTIC, service with a smile and Mr. Babul kept us all entertained. We all shared stories about our experiences in the Indian Restaurant, both as customers as well as workers and managements/owners.
I would highly reccomend this restaurant to everone. It has a 10/10 from me.
